How I work
Gentle, Personalised Support for You.
Dementia changes everything - how you relate to your loved one, how your family dynamics shift, and how you feel about yourself. It’s a lot, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every family’s situation is different, which is why the support I offer is tailored to you. Whether you need practical advice, emotional support, or just a space to breathe and be heard, we’ll shape this together.
What Working Together Looks Like
A conversation First - We start with a gentle, no pressure chat to see where you are, what’s feeling hard right now, and whether I’m the right person to help.
Support that Fits You - Some families need one-off guidance for a specific issue. Others want ongoing support as things change.
I offer:
Help with behaviours of distress and practical strategies to make life easier.
A space to talk about the emotional impact of caregiving - without guilt or judgement.
Guidance for making care decisions that feel right for your family.
No Set Rules - Just What You Need
Dementia isn’t predictable, so our work together doesn’t have to be rigid. Whether you need one session or a few, we’ll find what works best for you.
My Training and Experience
I have over 25 years of experience in mental health nursing, coaching and dementia care. In 2010 I co-founded Memory Matters, an award winning social enterprise supporting individuals and families affected by dementia.
After years of leading and growing the organisation, I stepped away to focus on coaching and well-being, developing my own approach to sustainable mental health. But dementia care has always been where my heart is.
Now, I bring my experience back to where it matters most - helping families navigate dementia with practical guidance, emotional support, and strategies to manage the journey ahead.
My Mission
Dementia changes everything - for the person diagnosed and for those who love them. it can feel overwhelming, emotional and isolating. My mission is to make the journey easier.
I provide personalised guidance, practical strategies, and emotional support to help families manage behaviours of distress, make confident care decisions, and look after their own well-being along the way.
Want to talk about how I might be able to help…
“Sometimes we get so caught up in our thoughts that we can feel like we aren’t moving forward at all, it’s not until a positive force full of ideas and gentle reminders that you are enough comes along and intercepts them that we can move forward. In this case Laura was the positive force and she absolutely did just that.”
